Dear Wigleaf,
I'm writing to you from my notes app where I jot down ideas or observations in hopes they'll be stitched into a story later on. Some recent highlights:
- Who makes seaweed salad and why does it always look the same?
- Overheard lady on the phone — a lot of people don't know that you don't get invitations to funerals, if you knew someone you come
- Cabin trip where all the leaves have just fallen, but intent was for two couples to go leaf peeping
- Only the husband and the nanny eat the lactation cookies, not the lactating wife
- Vintage jeans have two knee holes in each pant leg; people of two different heights have worn them well
- Mouse swimming to shore from canoe in small lake — mice swim fast?
- Lone iris in this huge roadside planter
- To be successful as an artist you have to have a huge ego and be very modest — Victoria Beckham documentary
- Turning 30 is like opening up a private room where all the women who were talking over you are now talking to you
- That naked way someone looks when they take their first steps of a run outside of their apt.
- Four women dock their boat called Chicks Ahoy
- Do horses know they're racing?
- Conversation about desert religions in a Taco Bell cantina
Okay — see you! Thank you so much for reading my story. It really means so much.
Zoe
