first date with biblically accurate angel

first they fiddled
with the menu. dropped it once. asked forgiveness for clumsiness.
what can you do when you're on display? look out the window? the weather
is as moody as i am. steel gray sky cradled by the idea of blue. rain
holding on for dear life among the clouds. to coax it into falling i
upload my dreams to the sky's interface: me getting spit on, me drowning
without grace, etc. i figure showing my own faults will speed up the
process. in a daydream i watch texas and minnesota compare scars, find
commonalities. but then the rain releases. it's cold and we're stuck
outside. then everything goes black. then sickness manifests, starts
complicating everything. the more i know you, the more i miss you. a black
sheet covers the landscape. i wake up next to you, having left the blinds
in the bedroom open. the morning light reveals your hair—how it overtakes
my bed. it's tuesday and you're ethereal.
later we will ride the train together. i will hold your hand.
