Flying Rainie Oet
Alexa is falling, falling and looking at everything around her, and it's
all wonderful, but she can't grab onto anything, because everything is also
falling, which she realizes when she tries to grab onto a room that spins
toward her. She talks to someone in the room who tells her the room isn't
falling, it's flying.
Rainie Oet is a nonbinary writer, Editor-in-Chief at Salt Hill,
and the author of two books of poetry: INSIDE BALL LIGHTNING, and GLORIOUS
VEILS OF DIANE. They are an MFA candidate at Syracuse University, where they
were awarded the Shirley Jackson Prize in Fiction.
