Everything, to her, pulled together something else—a lamp pulled together the curtains and rug, a chiffon skirt her outfit. A pseudo-Greek amphora harmonized an entire room. I started planting things that pulled apart, dragging home plaster atrocities, bruising bananas. The walls took sides, ceilings and floors neutral for now.
